7:14: We got some singing of live Christian rock called Prodigy...hallelujah!
Followed by O Canada.
Intros - Tories pleased to have more reps across country, happy to have two Tory govts (still minority, let's not forget, and I bet the parties, incl Liberals, will be less willing to let the Tory's pass things as easily as before now knowing it doesn't bode well with the voters), but they still want "more, more, more", those achievements are all summed up in 4 words "PM Stephen Harper". (Sound like my earlier blog expectations were right on that. But no, thank goodness, my badge does not say "Liberal", and I did get a very warm welcome by Ryan Sparrow).
A banker named Irving (if I got that right), a founding Tory I gather, was so important that Dion apparently had to cite him in his resignation speech.
7:26. Maxime is being interviewed by CBC it seems. He seems quite humbled. I think he's going to make a decent riding MP now that he knows he has little mobility in the HOC
7:30. Steven Fletcher: wants all delegates tomr to wear red!!! In honour of our troops! Apparently the Libs have done nothing for the troops so the Tory's want to take ownership of that colour from them. I don't think that's a very appropriate remark, especially considering it was just Remembrance Day.

Okay, the Conservatives are in government... so shouldn't they be the ones doing something for the troops. The Liberal party is in opposition... there's only so much you can do from there.
The whole bit just stuck me as this odd oppositional party reflex that the Conservatives still have -- whatever the issue, attack instead of showing any concrete action on your own part. I mean wearing the colour red in support of the troop -- that's the least you can do in support of an issue. Why not do a fund raiser or a charity auction? But whatever....
danielle, I just read that the Friday policy workshops are closed to the media. Is that true? Have you been told you can't access them?
"The prime minister will miss the convention's meat-and-potatoes policy workshops Friday – which are also closed to the media."Link here:

Since you're being accorded the same privileges as media...does that mean you're out too? That would be unfortunate to say the least as that's where the interesting debates will be.
I'm trying to get a couple bloggers from all (or no) parties together for a couple drinks on Saturday night... you interested?
Well, between reading your account and Dr Dawg's, I'm actually not sad I'm missing this event.
Imp: I'm going to comment on such things tomr, when I will know more and know for certain, not just speculation.
Devin - for sure, would be great. Drop me an email (danielle.takacs@gmail.com) or a "comment"
Wouldn't that be something, that they invite you to another province to participate in watching, then tell you that you can't watch. "But we invited you," they'll cry later.

They don't have to DO anything to wear red though. It's handy in their closets from when the Liberals were in power.
